Latest Updates from Our Project:

Update #18. Rob Donoghue unlocked, The black king and Final stretch goal.
almost 5 years ago – Fri, Jun 07, 2019 at 11:24:16 PM

We opened the Stretch goal and now we will have 7 action shots and a new chamber by Rob Donoghue. The next and possible final stretch goal is the Alven Prime Quickstart. As we have mentioned this will include 5 pregenerated characters, the rules, the setting and some surprises.

Alven Prime is an original setting and rule system based on D20 developed by Miguel Angel Bastarrachea, this system has been in development for the past years and playtested in the Universitary League of Roleplaying Games.

We also have the final version of the Black King without the background. We hope you enjoy it.

Update #17 19 hours left and Hardcover version .
almost 5 years ago – Fri, Jun 07, 2019 at 01:55:22 AM

  Hello Raiders of the Maze.

The past few hours have been amazing, so many new raiders have joined in this bonfire and we are now just shy of 40 USD of having Rob Donoghue writing the chamber and then we can go to Alven Prime QuickStart.  We still have 19 hours left so help us spread the word and hopefully we can get the quickstart. An epilogue stretch goal is ready in case we have some time left after reaching Alven Prime QuickStart.

We also have finished the estimates on work for the Hardcover version and we can now safely declare it open. If you want to make your Print on Demand version Hardcover instead of softcover just add $10.00 USD / $200.00 MXN to your pledge, you can do this on Mazeborn and higher tiers . To do this just go to “Manage your pledge” and add  $10 USD to the pledge as with any other Add-on.

When the pledge manager arrives, you can then select the hardcover version for your codes.

That’s all for now. Raid on.

Update #16 Last 48 hours.
almost 5 years ago – Wed, Jun 05, 2019 at 11:03:27 PM

 Hello Raiders of the Maze.

This has been a whole trip for us and we are very grateful for all the support. We now have Brandon Leon-Gambetta and Camdon Wright as writers for unique chambers.  As the ending approaches  we still have 2 final stretch goals for you.

The first stretch goal is  at $3,500.00 USD /  $70,000.00 MXN.

In this point we will commision 7  more action shots of the chambers and characters fighting the horrors inside. This will be added to the final book.

Action shot by Duamn Figueroa Rassol. 7 more pieces of gorgeus art await us.

The second part of that Stretch goal is that  Rob Donoghue will join us in creating a unique chamber for the Maze. We are very happy to have him on board.

 Rob Donoghue (He/him)

Is a co-founder of Evil Hat Productions who has written for a few other games, but mostly he is just very noisy on twitter.

The final Stretch goal will be at $4,000.00 USD / $80,000.00 MXN and is the Alven prime quickstart.

Alven prime is original system and setting by Miguel Angel Bastarrachea. The quickstart will have 5 pregenerated characters, information on the setting and some surprises.

Alven Prime is an upcoming new d20 system role-playing game, where the characters, called the Arcanauts, travel from their home Universe by advanced technomagic means to explore exotic fantasy worlds. Alven Prime is a planetary romance based game, but the Arcanauts can visit any kind of themed Universe, like dark, romantic or modern fantasy. In the Maze book it would be explained what is the Maze to the Alven Prime Multiverse.

We also want to inform you that we finished signing up with Backerkit for the Pledge manager so you can increase your pledge or add extras after the Campaign ends.

We are currently evaluating the option of having a “Hardcover upgrade” that would allow those interested in having the game in Hardcover to get their PoD code for a Hardcover instead of a softcover, this will be as a $10 USD  Add-on that you increase in your pledge. If you want to have this option please tell us in the comments.

Update #14 Meet the Artists
almost 5 years ago – Fri, May 31, 2019 at 02:47:34 PM

 Greetings Raiders of the Maze.

Today we want to present you the artists that are working on the art for the Maze, Duamn Figueroa and Halcabar el Gato.

Duamn Figueroa Rassol. (He/him).

Duamn is an argentinian illustrator, graphic designer and amateur game designer.   Find him at his  Twitter  or on  Instagram.

Favorite type of RPG.

I lean toward both improvisation-heavy narrative games and grindy dungeon crawlers. I feel that different games fit different needs and I love jumping from playing an epic mythological saga in Burning Wheel to a fast-paced heist in Blades in the Dark to a high fantasy display of magic and steel in D&D each day of the week. System matters, and all that.

Memorable character you once made.

I tend to be on the DM side most of the time. Odessa Bell, the character I’m currently playing in my girlfriend’s campaign, is really fun: she’s a by-the-book mercenary working for the local guard and trying to keep her chaotic companions from running their tavern business to the ground with their hijinks. She almost arrested a young bronze dragon last session!

I am eyeing up a cool evil warlock PC if I ever get to play inside the Maze tho.

Favorite moment playing either as player or as GM.

Whew! So many years, so many anecdotes! Like the time Albatross and Kiefer took down the Hawk God from the Dreamlands and gauged its eyes to see the weaves of magic. Or the time Great Shadow, alpha of the pack vanquished the Beast, a rival wolf, with one brutal bite to the neck. Or the time the Heroes of Stoneclaw infiltrated the temple of the Celestial Court to interrupt a ritual that would bring an eldritch god to the material plane! Or that time the Wyvernskull Banner lured and ancient white dragon to destroy a city just to escape a martial trial going bad!

I know they all read like nonsense to you, but they’re precious memories. Precious memories for me and my friends alone.

What motivate you to become an artist.

I. Just. Can’t. Not. Draw. It’s a need. If I don’t, I explode. That, paired with my love for RPGs and the infinite source of inspiration they provide, it’s a cocktail mix for artwork ready to explode.

Favorite piece you have made for the Maze so far.

The demon cover is the one I feel overall satisfied with. I may highlight some details in other pieces, but if I had to choose one, it would be that.

The one I’m currently working on might be a contestant, tho. I guess I’ll have to wait and see how it turns out.

How would you survive in the Maze?

With the power of friendship, sword and sorcery! I mean, what’s the point of surviving if you don’t have true companions to die for?

Hálcabar el Gato

A mexican Illustrator and future concept artist, who has been working with the Liga Universitaria de Juegos de Rol. Find her at  Instagram  or  Facebook

Favorite type of RPG

Epic fantasy, where you have to fight next to your fellows with a sword against the forces of evil. While epic music sounds in the background.

Memorable character you once made

The Paladin Leinan Lein, a cat woman who was in the final battle against the innombrable God of Chaos.

Favorite moment playing either as player or as GM.

Once, as GM, the players were fighting in a sanctuary  full of lizardfolk trying to bring to this plane an infernal dragon, they were surrounded and outnumbered. But Raegar, an half orc, had an incredible run of 20's, he almost kill to the whole crowd and helped to stop the ritual. It was amazing.

What motivate you to become an artist.

I love draw characters, since i was a little girl, all  my life I´ve been drawing, making stories in my head and drawing my oc´s. All the time I'm doing it. I cant see me in a world where I'm not drawing.

Favorite piece you have made for the Maze so far

Petra Llanuras, i really enjoyed all the work in the textures and the shadows in that character design.

How would you survive in the Maze ?.

Working as a team, looking out for traps in the chambers, and fighting with all my brave and will.

We hope to show you more of that great art from both of this artists in the coming days. We are preparing a small surprise that hopefully will be ready in this weekend, stay tuned for it.
